Pocket - if'n ya run into VD at any of the PX shows, any chance that u could PLEASE inquire whether it'd be economically feasible 4 them to hit west-central FL when they tour?!!! [img]wink.gif[/img] [img]tongue.gif[/img] .lol. They were scheduled to have been here in Jan 02, but the show was cancelled [due to lack of interest or $ logistics, maybe?!]
[I've been tellin EVERY1 I KNOW in this area from West Palm to Punta Gorda to Fort Myers to Tampa to Jacksonville about this phenomenal band - the selling point being MacAlpine is well known as the neo-classical metal-shredder from the 80's/90's; & Virg has gained some momentum as Vai's drummer on G3's late 01 tour; Dave LaRue is known widely 4 his work w/ SMorse/Dregs AW....]

Note the gigs with Virgil are NOT Planet X. It is his other band, Freakhouse. I believe Mark Boals handles vocals (see website) and Virgil plays more stright groove--in a rock context.

Mark Boals is not in FreakHouse. Mark Boals is the singer for Ring Of Fire. They are Boals,
Donati,Macalpine and Bynoe along with a new Keyboard player they are having auditions for. There new album Dreamtower is actually very good. It is not my main cup of tea but it is very solid. Virgil definitely was a big influence on the writing for the new album. It is a good combo of strong Prog, a little neo-classical a tad of fusion and alot of good old in your face hard rock. It has some elements of Planet X in it but not as insane.

By the way Pocket and Fuse this happens to be Kirk writing this.(Planet X and Audiophile forum member.) I had to use a different handle on this board so I chose (Digital Man) an old Rush song I liked years ago. Hope all is well with you guys. I will get those albums out to you soon Pocket. It has been pretty crazy lately.

Signals was 1 of my all-time fav rock albums at the time...Subdivisions, Analog Kid, Digital Man, The Weapon, LOSING IT - killer tunes...altho these days i find the groove to Dig Man, altho it was solid Neil, is a little "rock-stiff" in the "ska" sections, if'n ya know what i mean [img]wink.gif[/img] ...still, a great song [& album] nonetheless....

I've seen the Freakhouse band. They seemed to me to be a generic rock band and Virgil was the only thing that stood out about them. Wasn't really my thing.

Hey Doc - i'm in "Bucsville" [Tpa-Town], so we're basically kinda like "neighbors"...
Roy Cameron [you'll find him on these threads occasionally] is also a fine drummer who lives in Orl, AWA a cat named Marc Clermont, Jr...Gary Moffat [.38 Special's drummer] also used to do a lot of stuff around Orl [he used to live there]...
Didja get to catch Chick at the HOB there last Oct? I met Roy there at that show...[STOOPID playing, that.... [img]wink.gif[/img] ]
Or did u catch the Flecktones show & if so, how was it?....
